The
Associazione Culturale "Sandro Pertini" was
founded on June 20, 1995 in Florence.
It is housed in Palazzo Coppi at Via Michelangelo
Buonarroti 13. The Association aims to promote and bring
about all cultural activities which bear witness to the
current value and the universality of liberty, democracy,
of the respect for persons and of solidarity to which
Sandro Pertini remained faithful.
In addition, the Association promotes and organizes
conferences, seminars, meetings, exhibitions, and other
cultural events of a historical nature concerning both
national and international events, sometimes in
collaboration with state entities and other institutes
with serving analogous ends; it supports publishing
activities and assists in scientific divulgation.
The Association works very closely with the Fondazione di
Studi Storici "Filippo Turati" (the Filippo
Turati Foundation for Historical Studies) which, from its
inception in 1985, was headed by Sandro Pertini until his
death.
