THE LIBRARY
|
The
Pertini Library's distinction lies in the remarkable
strength of its collection documenting the antifascist
movement and the resistance.
The literature collected here, including numerous
publications concerning local events, has been integrated
and enriched by means of subsequent donations from the
Istituti della Resistenza (Institutes on the Resistance)
which responded to the appeal broadcast by supporters of
this Association.
Particularly important is the section concerning essential
documents of the history of antifascism and of the
Resistance. Assembled from successive additions, now fully
inventoried and ready for consultation, this collection
boasts 6,500 volumes and booklets.
Part of the Library (around 600 volumes, in addition to a
Gottuso painting and some symbolic representations) was
donated to the Library of the Department (Facolt) of
Letters of the University of Siena at a ceremony on
December 12, 1992.
Together with the Fondazione di Studi Storici
"Filippo Turati," the Association offers reading
hours from Monday to Friday (9:30 am - 12:30 pm), at
its offices in Palazzo Coppi in via Buonarroti 13, thereby
making available for consultation a joint collection of
over 65,000 volumes. |
